SunCoal Biocoal

SunCoal® biocoal is a dry biofuel with high energy density, similar to that of dry brown coal. Production, storage or processing can be adjusted according to the needs of the customer.
The biocoal can be used directly as an energy source in existing coal-fired power plants and pulverized coal firing plants, etc. In addition, biocoal can be processed into syngas and secondary products, such as second generation liquid BtL-fuels through gasification (Fischer-Tropsch-Synthesis).
Impurities and ash content are separated from the biomass for the most part during the production of SunCoal.
Compared to brown coal, SunCoal biocoal is a renewable energy source and CO2-neutral. SunCoal only releases CO2 that has already been absorbed by plants during photosynthesis. For this reason, the renewable energy laws in Germany (EEG) subsidize energy fueled by biocoal. Refined SunCoal biocoal can also be used to fulfill blending quotas (for example with gasoline or diesel) or to save CO2-certificates in the European Union Emission Trading Scheme.
